Most people don’t know avant garde composers or pieces by name, but there’s always a chance you’ve heard some of this stuff somewhere.  In the case of Polish composer Krzysztof Penderecki, you may have heard his music in Stanley Kubrick’s “The Shining.”

As one Youtube comment notes on “The Dream of Jacob”: “As soon as i heard this music on ‘Inland Empire’, i instantly pictured the scene in ‘the shining'(1980), the scene when Jack finds the naked/rotting ‘237 Lady’ in the bathroom scene. Chilling Shit lol.”
